2 foreigners with links to Taliban detained in Sar-i-Pul

SAR-I-PUL (Pajhwok): Two foreign fighters with links to the Talibaninfo-icon have been arrested in central Sar-i-Pul province, local security official claimed on Friday.

The foreigners were detained during a police raid in the morning, the provincial police chief, Col. Inayatullah Habibi, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

He said: “The militants detained during a police operation in the Qaflatoon area of Sayyad district. One of them is named Danyal from Uzbekistan and the other Abdul Matin from Turkmenistan.”

He added the detainees had been handed over to the relevant organs for interrogations. Four Taliban were killed and weapons seized in the predawn operation.
