Kabul police officer detained for taking $30,000 bribe

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): A police officer in the capital Kabul has been caught red-handed while receiving $30,000 in bribe, a knowledgeable security source revealed on Friday.  

Mohammad Hussain, the 13th district police chief, was arrested Thursday evening by an Interior Ministry team, a security official confided to Pajhwok Afghan News.

He said the accused initially tried to flee, but the raiding party arrested him along with his bodyguards after a brief clash. One of the raiding party members was slightly wounded.
