Hendi stresses unity to end Afghanistan’s troubling journey

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The only way to steer Afghanistaninfo-icon out of crises was unity, mutual understanding and acceptance, said Hendi, the only surviving family member of the Royal family of King Amanullah Khan who brought independence to Afghanistan back in 1919.

Princess Hendi said this in a gathering organized by the Ahmad Shah Masoud Foundation here on the eve of 98th Independent Day.

She said: “Afghanistan rendered huge sacrifices to become independent country.” Three times the Afghans fought English empire defeated them and earned its independence, she said, adding than King Amanullah Khan strive to make Afghanistan an develop and prosperous country.

She said the Independence Day was a symbol for the country and reminded that no power in the worldinfo-icon could defeat Afghans if they give hands to hands and become a united force.

Ahmad Wali Masoud, head of the Masoud Foundation, said King Amanullah Khan rescued the country from crises and put it on the direction of development and prosperity.

He said the people of Afghanistan should think that where did the country was 98-year ago and where did it stand almost a century after.
