Asphalting of 10-km road launched in Samangan
AIBAK (Pajhwok): Construction work on a 10 kilometres road, costing $1.5 million, has been launched by Sweden in northern Samangan province, an official said on Sunday.
Director of Public Works Eng. Zia Hamyoon told Pajhwok Afghan News the road would connect the capital of Samangan through Khuram Sarbagh district with Roi Du Aab.
He said asphalting of the eight metres wide road would be completed in eight months. The project includes an 870 metres concrete wall to protect the road from river water.
Qari Abdullah Mowahid, Khuram district’s administrative chief, said with the construction of the road, about 150,000 residents would benefit from good transport facilities.
